Have you had a chance to explore our recent updates?

Over the next couple of weeks, we will be digging deeper into these new features, uncovering the details that will help enhance your teaching!

New Feature #1: New ClassPlay Songs

Looks like the holidays came early! We are very excited to announce that this release includes 16 new songs including 10 holiday titles, three classical pieces, and three contemporary songs. New additions include songs like:

  • We Wish you a Merry Christmas
  • Frosty the Snowman
  • Peter and the Wolf
  • What a Wonderful World
  • And many more!

Look for the red star next to new songs,
or see a complete list of new songs and activities in ClassPlay!

Almost every new song includes a Full Score Activity, Lyrics Activity, and Printable Material to share with your students. Let’s take a look at a few of our favorite new ClassPlay songs that will get your students moving and singing all around the classroom!

Are you putting together a holiday show for your school? “Cray, Cray Christmas” is a great song that will get you, your students, and even their parents dancing and singing along! This Quaver original provides a Full Score Activity that offers Key and Tempo Options – making it easier to adjust the key to better match your students’ vocal range and slow the tempo for initial learning.

This release also includes holiday classics for Christmas (“Deck the Halls,” “O, Tannenbaum,” “Winter Wonderland,” and more), Hanukkah (“I Have a Little Dreidel”), Halloween (“Pumpkin Bones” and “We’re Going Trick or Treating”) and a special Quaver original song for Kwanzaa (“Kwanzaa Celebration”).

Have a specific Quaver song you would like in your performance? Feel free to email to request a downloadable track of any Quaver song in your account. We’d love to see videos of your student performances, as well!

We are very excited to add popular favorites including “Lean on Me” by Bill Withers to our ClassPlay library! Students can sing along with our animated Lyrics Page, and start a classroom discussion on kindness and how they can help others.

Also new in the Contemporary Songs category: Louis Armstrong’s “What a Wonderful World” and “Africa” by Toto!

Students can also listen to “Lean on Me” on page 20 of our Advanced Blues QuaverBook and History Venue Book.

Sergei Prokofiev’s “Peter and the Wolf” is a unique piece that represents each character’s story with a musical theme, a motif, played by a specific instrument. As the song plays, each time you’re introduced to a new character, press PAUSE, and have your students identify the instrument that represents that character. Once the song is over, look at the list and discuss why Prokofiev chose that instrument for each character.

Stay tuned for more fun with “Peter and the Wolf” in future releases. For now, students can also access this song – along with “The Syncopated Clock” in our Advanced Classical QuaverBook and History Venue Book on page 19 & 20.
