It’s the moment you’ve all been waiting for…time to announce the winners of our Quest for Quarter-Sized Quaver Contest!

AQuestforQuarterSizedQuaver1_BlogAt the end of the spring semester, we asked you, our Qmunity of teachers and students, to take Quarter-Sized Quaver along on your summer adventures and share your pictures with us on social media. We had an AMAZING amount of participation with hundreds and hundreds of entries! Quaver was honored to travel along with you as you visited Disney World, relaxed at the beach, attended sporting events (including the Olympics in Rio!), and enjoyed making music this summer!

We set out to choose just four winning schools to receive a visit from full-sized Quaver, but the competition was tough! We decided to choose SIX winners instead!  That’s right, Quaver will be visiting six schools this school year.

Let’s take a look at the big winners, in several categories:

Cranberry Station Elementary
Westminister, Maryland
Winner for Most Active Poster: Catherine Rudd

Mrs. Rudd posted so many pictures, we really felt like we were at Disney World and Universal Studios with her! There was also great participation from all of her students, including a cameo appearance by another notable musician, Steven Tyler of Aerosmith, who took the time to draw his own Quarter-Sized Quaver!

Reinberg Elementary
Chicago, Illinois
Winner for Most Exotic Adventure: Mary Haskins

Ms. Haskins took QSQ on her trip across Asia, stopping off at the Grand Palace in Bangkok, Thailand and the Golden Pavilion in Kyoto, Japan!

Anderson Elementary
Allen, Texas
Winner for Most Homegrown Participation

Music teacher Charles Black’s students proved that you don’t have to go far to have a wonderful adventure! They took Quaver around town with them to the movies, pool, library, and bike riding throughout the summer.

Line Elementary
Newfield, Maine
Winner for Most Quarter-Sized Quavers in One Place

Mr. Abbiati’s students went to great lengths to gather together before the end of the school year to take an epic Quarter-Sized Quaver picture – they even made a Quarter-Sized Austin Otto!

Annie Belle Clark Primary School
Tifton, Georgia
Winner for Most Posts from One School

We know Mrs. Jones students were busy this summer because they sent in over 200 pictures! From cruising the Caribbean with Mickey and traveling to Kenya to playing Pokemon Go and cheering on the Tifton County Blue Devils football team, these students had a very exciting summer!

Rockenbaugh Elementary
Southlake, Texas
Winner for Creative Theme: Quaver Shows Support

This last category is all about leaning on Quaver for support. Whether it be in urgent care or cheering your country on in the Olympics, Quaver is there for you! Mrs. Smith’s students know they can always rely on Quaver!

But that’s not all! We had so many great posts, that we’re also going to visit EIGHT more schools by SKYPE, to say thanks for all their great photos!

Quaver will be Skyping with:

Coldwater Elementary
Coldwater, Ohio

Students from Coldwater Elementary had Quarter-Sized Quaver tag along with them to the beach, swim meets, Florida, and even helped Noah practice his guitar! Thanks to music teacher Denise Petersen for leading the charge!

Bethke Elementary
Timnath, Colorado

Music teacher Allison Adams took this amazing picture of the Rocky Mountains!

Old Union Elementary
Southlake, Texas

Christine Caballero, whose children are in Mrs. McArthur’s music class, invited Quaver to be a part of the opening of Disney Shanghai!

Pelion Elementary
Pelion, South Carolina

Music teacher Tracey Jackson from Pelion Elementary in South Carolina brought Quaver along on her mission trip to Honduras!

Parkview Elementary
Sedalia, Missouri

I hope Quaver has been a good boy this year, because Cindy Calafaty, the music teacher for Parkview Elementary, took him to meet Santa in North Pole, AK! We know Mrs. Calafaty’s students will enjoy this early Christmas gift!

Northside Elementary
Midway, Kentucky

Music teacher Erin Casimir spent the month of June singing and traveling around Vienna, Austria. Here is a picture she took of Mozart’s home!

St. Anthony Tri-Parish Catholic School
Casper, Wyoming

Music teacher Terry Cometto had a busy summer of golfing, visiting museums, and attending the St. Anthony Street Fair in Wyoming. That street fair sure looks fun!

And River Eves Elementary
Roswell, Georgia

Annelise Evans started off the summer by having Quarter-Sized Quaver attend her professional development conferences, help at band camp, and, to end the summer with a bang, travel around Austria!

Congrats to all of our winners, and thank you to everyone that participated!

We’ll be contacting the music teacher at each winning school to set up your school visit or Skype call with Quaver. You can check out Quaver’s summer adventures in our Facebook album, “A Quest for Quarter-Sized Quaver!

Stay tuned for our next contest, because rumor has it that Quarter-Sized Quaver has a quarter-sized friend that he wants to join in on the fun next time!
