Each Tuesday, we bring you a Tip of the Week to make using your Quaver resources easier than ever!

Click Play to listen to our Tip of the Week jingle! (Email readers, click-through to listen to the Tip of the Week Tune)

Today’s Tip is for users of our recorder material in both Curriculum and ClassPlay!

Keep students practicing recorder all summer long!

Today we’re highlighting an easy way to give students access to digital scores of their favorite Quaver recorder songs via any computer or mobile device.

That’s right! An interactive score for every Quaver recorder piece is available as a Student Interactive at QuaverMusic.com or on mobile devices through the QStudent App!

How to Access Digital Recorder Scores as a Student:

If your students already have QuaverMusic.com accounts and are enrolled in a class in your GradeBook they should:

  1. Visit the QuaverMusic.com homepage
  2. Log in to their QuaverMusic.com account
  3. Click the STUDENT INTERACTIVES sign on the signpost to the left of the screen

If your students do not yet have QuaverMusic.com accounts enrolled in a GradeBook class they should:

  1. Visit the QuaverMusic.com homepage
  2. Skip login and immediately click the STUDENT INTERACTIVES sign on the signpost to the left of the screen
  3. Enter a Class Code generated from your Teacher Administration

The Class Code is the key to linking your students to your teacher account, and making it easy for them to access the Interactives all summer long. The best part is – ANY Class Code will do! You can simply create one code for all your classes if you like!

How to Generate a Class Code for your Students:

  1. Login to your QuaverMusic.com teacher account
  2. Click the TEACHER tab to access the Teacher Dashboard
  3. Click TEACHER ADMIN on the Teacher Dashboard
  4. Click MANAGE CLASSES to open your existing class list

If you have already created classes, you will find Class Codes next to each class in your GradeBook. Once students enter that code, they will have unlimited access to our recorder scores.

Need to create a Class Code for the first time?

  • In the same Manage Classes menu, click ADD at the bottom of the screen
  • Complete the information on this Edit Class screen as shown below – the first four fields are required, while the additional details below are optional

  •  Click SAVE to return to your list – now with a shiny new class listed!

Once your students enter that Class Code, they’ll have access to a whole menu of Student Interactives!

To access recorder scores, students can select, you guessed it, RECORDER.

Once in the Recorder section, they can scroll down to find a song.

After selecting a song, students can simply click LAUNCH.

The interactive score will open in a new window on their computer browser!

These interactive scores allow students to practice a recorder piece with the backing track. They can select a track ‘with’ recorder to hear an example or select the track without recorder. They can focus their practice by using the draw tool to highlight areas of special difficulty.

And that’s not all! The same scores are also available on mobile devices via the QStudentApp or can be accessed in print from your teacher account.

With a little setup on your end, your students can keep their recorder skills sharp all summer long!

I just created some color “posters” featuring the Class Play characters for my 1-3rd classroom. I am wondering about more images that could be used for classroom decor? Are you guys working on some products for us – like the golden Quaver? And other decorative and/or useful ideas?

Hi Donna,

Classroom decor is currently in the works, but we don’t have a set release date, yet. However, stay tuned for our How to Quaverize Your Classroom blog series that will come out later this month!
