Did you know you can adjust the volume in EarIQ?

Teachers all over the globe love using EarIQ for ear training in class – as a warm up activity, part of a lesson, or assessment!

Maybe you want to have the activity on the whiteboard ready to go for an end of the year assessment, but without the theme song playing on repeat. There are TWO easy ways to adjust the volume of EarIQ!

Here are TWO ways to adjust the volume in EarIQ:

1) Use the OPTIONS button

Click the OPTIONS button on the EarIQ main menu to adjust the carnival music volume and the SFX (carnival ambience noise) volume to your desired level.

2) The Hidden Gramophone

There’s also a fun way to mute the background music from inside the EarIQ Carnival with the hidden Gramophone! Between the Intervals and Chords tents, notice the music is coming from an old-fashioned Gramophone. Simply click the Gramophone, and the music stops!

Teacher Tip:  See if any of your students can find the source of the music on the EarIQ screen before muting it. Many may have never seen a Gramophone before – what a great segue into recorded music history!

Have your students discovered the secret Gramophone?
