We love the Qmunity of teachers that have gathered around Quaver’s Marvelous World of Music.

Quaver teachers are an engaging, smart, and motivated group eager to learn and try new technologies and ideas!

Recently on our Facebook page – we saw the Qmunity in action talking about iPad integration with Quaver in the classroom!

Jodi from Pennsylvania was considering getting a Quaver Program and an iPad for her music classroom, and asked the Qmunity:

“How do you use just one iPad with an entire class?”

New Hampshire teacher Catie replied with lots of ideas:

  • Use the Splashtop app to turn your iPad into an interactive whiteboard slate and have students interact with the board from their seats.
  • Use it for attendance and other administrative things with apps like iDoceo and TeacherKit
  • Have students take turns taking notes about the lesson using the notes app
  • Use as a remote to control your Interactive Whiteboard while you sit and interact with your classes
  • Have small groups take turns choreographing their own dance with QDancer
  • Have a year-long QAstroNotes tournament
  • There are so many possibilities!

Other teachers also chimed in with ideas for Jodi:

  • Ear Training: Pull up the High-Low IWB Activity from the Pitch Classroom and pass the iPad around the room for a quick ear training assessment!
  • In any of the Quaver Creatives, play “Pass the iPad” to have students perform a pre-assigned rhythm, chord, or instrument
  • Make iMovies to promote class projects or performances

As we continue to develop mobile resources, it’s exciting to see how teachers are already taking advantage of the technology they have in their classrooms!

If you have other ideas for Jodi – please leave them in the comments or jump in the ongoing conversation on the Quaver Facebook Page and on twitter with #QuaverMusicChat!

Or why not ask the question you’ve been dying to have answered? Quaver Teachers are standing by!

To get full access to the quaver website on nan iPad with all the flash player requirements, download the Puffin academy app and the full site will work on an iPad.
