We have four values at Quaver that define the way we see the music education community – Quality, Integrity, Responsiveness, and Passion.

Our commitment to Quality is evident in our products; to Integrity in the way we respect the truth; and in Responsiveness in the way we listen to our customers.

But where does the passion come from?

Well, we are here to share a not very well hidden secret. We love music.

QuaverHQ

Everyone knows that Quaver himself loves music, but what about the rest of us, the 50 employees who round out the Quaver team – the animators, graphic artists, developers, performers, composers, customer service gurus, and sales representatives. Beyond our passion for creating amazing resources for the music classroom, we share a personal passion for music. How do we know that? We conducted a survey.

Here are the results from our survey of the Quaver Team:

First we explored the Musical training of our team:

  • 20% earned a College Degree in Music
  • 35% consider themselves a Professional Musician
  • 30% have been employed as a Teacher
  • 75% are or were members of a Band
  • 23% consider themselves an Orchestra
  • 63% were members of the Marching Band

When it comes to instrument acumen, the numbers are also astounding:

  • 51% consider themselves a Singer
  • 34% consider themselves a Composer
  • 53% play Keyboard/Piano
  • 53% play Guitar
  • 44% play Brass
  • 21% play Woodwind
  • 41% play Drums/Percussion

So at Quaver, our staff not only produces wonderful products for teaching music, they can actually produce wonderful music.

If you’re ever in Nashville, stop by Quaver HQ to meet us; but be prepared to walk away with a little extra passion.

It’s evident that everyone within the Quaver team is passionate about music. In my interactions with the team, I couldn’t help but to see and experience that passion firsthand–it was evident from the first time I met them in 2011. While the technical side of music has importance and value, the passion behind it must not be ignored. Keep the passion burning, guys!

I agree with Marcus 100%! When Quaver takes over the music ed world, it will be because of their passion and drive. This is what sets you apart from all the other programs and curriculum out there. It is obvious how hard you work to get it right! Thank you SO much for all you do. Your amazing resources make my job so much fun (and so much easier) every day. This is probably one of my favorite blog posts so far :)

Hi, I absolutely love Quaver, and wish I knew about this when I was a music teacher in NYC for the last 8 years.

I’m curious about the members of the band you feature at the end of your episodes. What are their names, and do they play out in Nashville? They are very talented, although the female singer looks older than a teen, so I would just like to know the background of the musicians, thank you!

Andrew
