It’s celebration time in San Antonio, as teachers from all around the country gather for TI:ME’s annual Technology Conference, held in conjunction with TMEA.

Each year, the TI:ME Organization – a HUGE proponent in helping music educators apply technology in their classroom – names one of their members as Teacher of the Year during their Keynote session in San Antonio.

The Quaver contingent will be cheering extra loud this year as the announcement is made: the TI:ME Teacher of the Year, your friend and ours, is Catie Dwinal!

We are thrilled to see Catie recognized for her contribution to music education!

In her brief career, Catie has harnessed the power of technology, distilled it to an efficient set of tools for teachers in the classroom, and then most importantly, shared her knowledge with hundreds of other teachers across the nation through workshops, published articles, blogs, tweets and lots of other digital diversions. Often, the hand she offers others is a boost across the technology gap, bringing terrified teachers comfort as they face a new digital world.

We are so proud of her for accomplishing such a prestigious award, but not the least bit surprised!

Catie exemplifies what we see in all our Quaver Teachers, creative energy and a willingness to never stop learning how to reach today’s students with music!

If you’re heading to San Antonio, for TMEA, we hope you’ll stop in to the TI:ME Keynote on Thursday, February 13th at 1pm to see Catie receive her award.

We’ll be the team in the back yelling Boom-Chicka-Boom!
