On Mondays, we bring you a Tip of the Week here on the blog to make using your Quaver resources easier than ever.

Click Play to listen to our Tip of the Week jingle! (Email readers, click-through to listen to the Tip of the Week Tune)

Today’s Tip of the Week is for Users of any of Quaver’s Essentials or the full QK-5 Curriculum!

Did you know that you can make a simple Projection Screen more Interactive with the Draw Tool at QuaverMusic.com?

That’s right – even if you don’t have a fancy IWB in your classroom yet, we’ve made it easy to write directly on the screen to help communicate to your students and improvise your lesson!

Let’s try it out:

In Quaver’s Music Essentials Program:

Pull up the Rhythm Classroom and check out the Rhythm Creator IWB Activity:

From the menu at the bottom of your screen you can access the DRAW TOOL.

Once selected, you’ll be able to use your mouse as a White Board Pen to fill in the Rhythm Phrases with your students!

Simply click CLEAR to erase or click DRAW again to turn off the pen!

In Quaver’s QK-5 Curriculum:

Navigate to 4th Grade, Lesson 3, Super Sixteenth Notes and click NEXT to the first activity:

Flip to the final Slide in your Media Slideshow, and Click DRAW in the Navigation Bar.

Choose the COLOR and WEIGHT of your pen, and start drawing!

For example, you might spell out your method of counting Sixteenth Notes in this lesson!

Just like that – from any IWB Activity or Curriculum Screen, your basic Projector becomes an Interactive White Board!

Try it Out:

  1. Go to QuaverMusic.com and Log In to your Account
  2. Click on your “Teacher” tab at the bottom of the screen
  3. Click the ESSENTIALS or CURRICULUM Icon
  4. Choose any IWB Activity from your Classrooms or Launch any Lesson in Curriculum
  5. Click Draw!

What do you think? Have you used the Draw Tool in your classroom?
