Looking Ahead to 2013!

Well here we are at the end of 2012 – what has changed and what is ahead?

As you may know, Quaver is now in over 1,000 schools and has over 100,000 users on the website.   And that’s just the start!

Here’s what we’re planning for 2013 and beyond:

  • We are now developing a K-5 curriculum based on the Common Core to make it even easier for you to use the ever increasing number of Quaver resources in your classrooms.
  • We are introducing Electronic Lesson Planstm that are “executable.”   That means you click on the lesson plan and it automatically navigates through the website to the needed resources and projects them onto the screen or Interactive White Board.  This means “streaming” is coming to the video episodes, so you won’t need to rely on your DVD player exclusively.
  • The curriculum will include ClassPlaytm , a new application which includes original, contemporary arrangements for singing, playing, and moving in class.   Songs will include screens for Solfege, Orff Instruments, the Recorder, and the Ukulele.  We can’t wait to see your students singing and dancing to classic and original Quaver tunes in the classroom!
  • Also, will be socialized even more this year.  There will be a FRIENDS tab and a QUEST tab that encourage kids to become even more involved in music.  Of course, you will be able to turn these off in class if you want.

In everything we’re working on, we are having a blast preparing new things for your classroom.  We are even working on an application to help the District Supervisor see the fabulous work music teachers are up to in his or her district!

We wish you all Happy Holidays and a prosperous New Year!

It’s been exciting this school year as I daily open up the Online Classroom and occasionally get surprises of new features or tweaked formats. I’m really looking forward to the executable Lesson Planner and ClassPlay that Quaver has coming down the pike!!
