If you ever run into trouble opening some items at QuaverMusic.com, try this super simple fix!

Sometimes an update to your browser of choice will cause some of the preferences to change, such as pop-up blocker settings.  When turned on, a pop-up blocker can prevent the browser from opening some QuaverMusic.com teacher resources, like the IWB Activities, Teacher Toolbox, and Quaver Quiz from the classroom, or World Music and Bach’s Brain from the Lobby Bulletin Board.

If you are clicking on those links and nothing is happening, a pop-up blocker may be to blame. But have no fear: here’s how to fix it!

How to Disable Your Browser’s Pop-Up Blocker:

Choose the appropriate browser below, and follow the steps to turn your Pop-Up Blocker off. Then try the same action at QuaverMusic.com, and contact us if that doesn’t solve your issue!

Go to the main menu of your browser and look for “About” or “Info” to find the Version you’re using.

Internet Explorer 8.0

  1. From Internet Explorer, click the Tools button, and then hover on Pop-up Blocker.
  2. Click Pop-up Blocker Settings.
  3. Add www.QuaverMusic.com to the list of allowed sites.

Internet Explorer 9.0

  1. From Internet Explorer, click on the “Gear” icon in the upper right hand corner, and then click on Internet Options.
  2. In the pop-up window, click on the Privacy tab.
  3. In the Pop-up Blocker section, click on Settings.
  4. Add www.QuaverMusic.com to the list of allowed sites.

Firefox 16

  1. From Firefox, click on the Firefox button (labeled Tools in Windows XP) and click Options.
  2. In the pop-up window, click on the Content tab.
  3. To allow pop-ups from all sites, uncheck the box next to Block pop-up windows.
  4. To add an exception for only QuaverMusic.com, click the Exceptions button next to the Block pop-up windows header.
  5. Add www.QuaverMusic.com to the list of allowed sites.

  1. From Chrome, click on the three horizontal lines in the top right of the browser window (if you have an older version, this will be a wrench icon in the same location), then click on Settings.
  2. At the bottom of the Settings tab, click on Show Advanced Settings.
  3. Under the Privacy section, click on Content Settings.
  4. In the pop-up, scroll down to find the Pop-ups section and click Manage Exceptions.
  5. Add www.QuaverMusic.com to the list of allowed sites.

  1. From Safari, click on the Safari menu in the top left of the screen, then click on Preferences.
  2. In the pop-up window, click on the Security tab.
  3. Un-check the box next to the Block pop-up windows header.
