Quaver Website Coordination Manager Jeremy Ruff is back to give us a Sneak Peek at an exciting feature coming soon to QuaverMusic.com.

Take it away, Jeremy!

Hi Everyone!  I hope you have been brushing up on your songwriting skills, because coming soon you’ll be able to put your songs to the ultimate test: that’s right, QuaverMusic.com is proud to announce CONTESTS!  Time for a tour. Follow me!

First, let me tell you about the Quaver spin on contests.

Contests are usually big scary monsters with purple eyes and sharp pointy green teeth.  You usually enter against a sea of other contestants and there is hardly a chance that you will ever be selected as the winner.

Not so with Quaver contests!

  • Our contest sizes are small, so there are many winners!
  • You can be in many different contests at once, or even enter multiple songs in the same contest theme at any time!
  • The contests usually being and end very quickly, so you don’t have to wait for months to find out if you’ve won.

We think the fast pace is more conducive to a fun, creative, and friendly environment, and we think you’ll agree.

When they become available later this month, you will find contests in a tab at the bottom of your screen anywhere in QuaverMusic.com.

There are 4 basic actions you can take in the contests panel.

1) You can enter a contest in QGrooves, QStrum, QBackBeat, or QComposer.

There are periodic themes for each creative that will change over time- use the themes as inspirations for your songs!  There are also 3 difficulty levels of contests you can enter, so whether you’re a beginner, intermediate, or pro, you’ll find a level that’s right for you.  If your song doesn’t win the first time, you can always enter it again!

2) If you don’t feel like entering a contest, you can rate contests that other users have entered.

You’ll be asked to compare 3 songs and give them ratings from 1-5 stars.  Just think, you could decide whose songs move on to victory!  Rating contests is also a great way to get ideas for your own songs, and to find out what other Quaver users are doing.

3) You can view the results of past contests.

You will always be able to review the results of contests you have entered, and you can also view the results of the most recent contests that have been completed.  It’s exciting to see who comes out on top!  Did you pick a winner?

4) You can view statistics for songs that you have entered into contests.

What is your most popular song?  Do you have any hits?  You can even earn special rewards for making songs that win many different contests in the form of gold, platinum, and diamond records.  You can display these on your music room wall!

We hope you enjoy Quaver contests- look out for them in the coming weeks.  One thing about contests is that the more people there are, the more fun everyone has.  So tell your friends to get a Quaver account and start making music today!

Happy composing!
