Quaver here – sharing a bit about our summer
and asking YOU for more ideas!

The summer is going by like a steam train and there is so much to be excited about in Quaver’s Marvelous World. From new sales and opportunities to more kids creating music at QuaverMusic.com to more excitement from teachers using our program in their classroom – the list goes on and on.

This summer has been our first opportunity to put on training events for districts using Quaver in their music classrooms!

Training and support of our teachers is an important part of our resources, and we’ve really enjoyed practicing and perfecting our training process.

Last week we were in Cleveland, Tennessee, training the fabulous music teachers of Bradley County Schools on Quaver’s resources. Amidst all of the fun, cakes, lunch (provided by us!!), and serious nose-to-the-grindstone learning, I said something I think is really important. You’ll have to imagine my gestures to get the full impact of the statement.

“Quaver is not just ours (gestures to the Quaver team)– it’s OURS! (waves arms to include all the teachers in the room)

While all the elements of Quaver’s Program are created by our team in Nashville, they truly belong to ALL OF US in the Quaver Family – including the teachers bringing Quaver to their students.  I said this to encourage the teachers at the training day to send me new ideas for whatever area of Quaver they were using.

This sense of ownership for our users is massively important to me.

I have found that teachers are an amazingly creative bunch of people and as they use our resources they will have ideas, and good ones, too! Many, many of our teachers have sent us ideas which we log internally and look into ways to incorporate them in the future. Worksheet ideas, musical ideas, IWB ideas, and we’re getting more everyday!

Now of course, it will be impossible for us to do everything, and a lot of times we’ve got something similar already in the queue to be created. But to really achieve our vision – to be the most trusted global brand in music education for children of all ageswe need teacher input to guide us. This is why we have been working intensively with a team of 13 teachers headed up by Chicago teacher Jim Meske, creating more IWBs across all levels, more class activities, more worksheets, more assessment opportunities, and more music. It’s a lot of work, but we are excited to continually share new and better resources with music teachers like you!

Quaver is on the move and you are the drivers . . . now back to training!!
