Hi there, my name is Abby, and I’ll be your host here at!

It is my pleasure to introduce you to the people and stories behind Quaver’s Marvelous World of Music & Like these folks here . . .

The Quaver Team

The Team, Summer 2011

That’s me on the far right, on the computer screen.

See, I really am living inside this blog! :)

I’m so excited to get this blog off the ground and begin sharing more about Quaver with the world. The fine folks at Quaver’s Marvelous World of Music have been working hard for nearly five years to make this project a reality, and that means they have lots of stories, resources, and insights to share with you!

What better way to kick off a blog than with a great story: the story of how Quaver’s Marvelous World of Music came to be!

It’s amazing what can happen when a shared passion is ignited!

When retired executive David V. Mastran and concert pianist Graham Hepburn met in 2002, they discovered a common passion and talent for music and a vision of helping children learn to love music. That vision guided the creation of Quaver’s Marvelous World and remains the inspiration that motivates the Quaver team today.

Mastran and Hepburn may have seemed unlikely collaborators, but each brought unique talents and experience to the table. Dave had innovative experience in managing large projects and building complex systems. Graham, a talented performer, educator, and entertainer, had invaluable experience in making the learning of music exciting and fun for kids.  This made him the perfect choice to take on the character of Quaver as the series developed!

Add a very talented creative team to the mix over the next four years – graphic artists, animators, programmers, musicians, audio engineers, video editors, & support staff – and the vision of Quaver’s Marvelous World of Music was realized at last. Producer Steve Gilreath joined the team to add his dose of creative power and extensive video experience to the Quaver DVD series. He now leads the Marketing team as they continue to carry the vision to the public!

Luckily for you, it won’t be just me blogging here! I’ll be bringing you voices from all corners of the Quaver team – from web developers to graphic artists – and outside of our company doors – from experts and influencers in the Music Education world to teachers using Quaver’s program in their classrooms! Plus you’ll hear from Quaver himself, every Monday, right here on!

So don’t be shy! Now that you’ve got a glimpse for where the Quaver dream began, join us in watching it grow.

Click back tomorrow for a peak at what’s new this month for teachers and kids at!

Abby, I am Graham’s sister-in-law…Sara’s sister, and I would like to personally commend you on your blog presentation, writing, and chipper, funspirited, yet informative style. I think it is such a fit for the personality of the Quaver product.
